L’utilizzo degli incensi è semplice: basta accenderli e posizionarli su un brucia incenso in un posto dove possano mantenersi senza bruciare nulla attorno. Lasciare, quindi, che il loro aroma si diffonda coinvolgendo la psiche ed aiutando a rilassarsi o a meditare.
Quando si inizia una seduta di meditazione, zazen, è importante che intorno a noi vi sia un ambiente in armonia con la nostra interiorità.
Accendere un bastoncino di incenso, prima di iniziare una sessione di Meditazione Zen, fa parte di quelle piccole ritualità che predispongono la mente e il corpo a concentrarsi sul momento presente.
Il profumo dell’incenso stimola la memoria olfattiva radicata nell’inconscio, legata ai ricordi del passato. Per questo è proficuo accendere l’incenso sempre con la stessa gestualità/ritualità ma soprattutto utilizzare sempre la stessa fragranza di incenso solo ed unicamente per lo Zazen. Tutto questo affinché il proprio sistema nervoso riconosca e recepisca l’insieme ritualità+fragranza come segnale di inizio di questa determinata pratica.
